Metropolitan Police - Project C3i

One of the most well known police forces in the UK have upgraded the whole of their '999' service centres. The new call centres' wired and wireless communications have been budgeted for. A Voice over IP telephony system needed to be specified along with CRM systems, databases, using XML messaging to deliver the information. The three new call centres are linked together to act as one, giving them a high level of resilience. 5-9's is the target for all of their 3-9s systems reliability. Managing Agents are through Lockheed Martin. My tasks were to evaluate CRM and Mobile Data terminals. The police vehicles are to be equipped with the latest mobile data technology. Vehicle location systems are to be upgraded and operated over their new digital mobile radio system called Airwave.
